APPLE CRUMBLE 🍎
Organic apples are perfection at this time of year. One of our favourite comfort foods is the mighty apple crumble. This crumble recipe created by @sageinfused has some additional health benefits using coconut sugar to sweeten and caramlise the apples and the LSA meal ( linseed, sunflower & almond meal) adds a slight nutty tone.
LSA is a power food in itself, it :
- increases your soluble and insoluble fibre,
- assists liver and bowel detoxification,
- rich source of vitamin E,
- high in omega's 3 and 6,
- abundant in polyphenols,
- high in protein, zinc, manganese,
- can improve cholesterol levels.
Why we love using organic coconut sugar
We prefer using organic coconut sugar instead of sugar where possible due to its lower glycemic index, causing less impact on blood sugar levels. It contains small amounts of nutrients like iron, zinc, calcium, and potassium, as well as antioxidants and inulin fiber. Its unique caramel-like flavour enhances recipes like this crumble recipe, and it undergoes minimal processing, free from artificial additives and bleaching agents. As a natural sweetener, coconut sugar aligns with preferences for less processed foods.
Filling:
3 organic apples
1 tbsp organic LSA
