Natural Wine

THE FARMERS'S STORE includes DELINQUENTE - WEEPING JUAN PET NAT 750 ML in its hampers.

Tasting Notes Petillant Naturel. Fermented in the bottle and naturally sparkling. It's unfiltered, cloudy and funky, but it's light, fun and delicious . Not too sweet & not too acidy ... this Juan is just right

WHY NATURAL WINES

You could say natural wines are like the hippie cousins of traditional wines. They're made from grapes that are grown without using any chemicals, and they're fermented using natural yeasts that are found on the grapes or in the winery. They don't use any additives like sulfites to preserve the wine, and they're often unfiltered and unrefined, which means they may look a bit cloudy. They're usually aged in neutral oak or other non-reactive vessels, which lets the grapes' natural flavours shine through. And you aren't left with those big oaky flavours some wines take on.

Traditional wines, on the other hand, are made using all sorts of fancy chemicals and commercial yeasts, and they're often filtered and fined to make them look pretty.

If you are advocates of natural, organic and unprocessed food like us ,then if you haven't already tried  a bottle of NATURAL WINE or a  PET NAT (Petillant Naturals), you must give them a try!

SHELF LIFE OF NATURAL WINES

However one draw back is the shelf life of an opened natural wine can be quite short. They typically have lower levels of sulfites than traditional wines, which means they may have a shorter shelf life once opened.

In general, natural wines can last anywhere from 1-5 days after opening if they are stored properly. To maximise the lifespan of an opened natural wine, it's recommended to store it in the refrigerator with a wine stopper or a vacuum-sealed wine preserver. This can slow down the oxidation process and help preserve the wine's flavour and aroma.
